The GILIS are charming, little islands with palm fringed sandy beaches and serious laid back life. There is no motorized transport on the islands but horse cars (called “cidomos”) and bicycles. Gili Air is the quieter island, perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
We have a multitude of dive sites around the Gilis which cover levels from dive beginners to experienced divers. Around the Gilis are walls, slopes and drop offs. You will very likely see turtles, sharks and cuttlefish, with a bit of luck ghost pipe fish and definitely all kinds of angelfish, butterflyfish.
White sandy beaches, palm trees and a relaxed atmosphere create the ambience of this quiet and small island. Many nice bungalow resorts are situated all over the island. From the east, there is the possibility to see the sunrise over Mount Rinjani (3726m) – Lombok and from the beaches in the west, you can enjoy the sunset over Mount Agung (3142m) – Bali, a scene not to be missed. We have a PADI 5-star resort here for the more relaxed tourist, who’s looking at diving in the day and chilling out in the evenings.
