Importantly, on Bohol, the diving is great. You have access to world renowned dive sites like Balicasag, an exhilarating drift along walls with huge stands of black coral, sea fans and schooling jacks. Brett and Jaki that run Sierra Madre Divers and the Dive-Careers Philippines internship progammes on Bohol, will ensure that you get a thorough understanding of the marine environment and conservation issues facing our oceans.

Both Brett and Jaki are intimately involved with marine conservation and this focus is really one of the greatest strengths of our Bohol, Philippines diving internship programmes. During our Bohol IDC, Dr Alessandro Ponzo of Large Marine Vertebrates conducts a seminar about whale shark behaviour and physiology for our dive interns. It is a great seminar with loads of useful information for dive professionals.

Dr Ponzo runs volunteer research programmes in Leite and Oslob, which out candidates are encouraged to participate on. We also conduct a Marine Resource Management seminar during the Bohol IDC for our divemaster and dive instructor interns. A fascinating look at the reef and how you can help protect it. Jaki and Brett are also strong and active supporters of the local coral replanting project. You will have the chance to participate during your internship.
