Turtle Ecology and Monitoring program

5 of the 7 species of sea turtle on the planet can be found in Thai waters. Today all of them are on the endangered species list, with some populations reduced by 98%. Divers form a network that is integral in the identification and monitoring of sea turtle populations around the globe. In this one day course, participants will learn about the ecology of sea turtles, and the threats that they face. Using various tracking techniques our students can collect data on the various turtle individuals in the Phi Phi island area and contribute to conservation efforts.
