OVERVIEW:
What is covered in Tec 40?
PADI Tec 40 introduces you to technical diving using tec equipment and protocols while remaining close to recreational limits:
- Conduct limited decompression dives to 40 meters
- Use a single decompression gas up to EANx50 (50% oxygen)
- Basic gas management and technical planning skills
- Learn proper equipment handling, including backmount and sidemount configurations
What is covered in Tec 45?
PADI Tec 45 takes you deeper and builds upon Tec 40 skills:
- Plan and execute decompression dives to 45 meters
- Use nitrox and up to 100% oxygen for decompression
- Practice emergency protocols including handling equipment failures
- Develop greater planning independence and situational awareness
What is covered in Tec 50?
PADI Tec 50 completes your entry-level technical training:
- Dive up to 50 meters with two decompression gases
- Conduct extended, multi-stop decompression dives and gas-switching for safety
- Learn to plan and execute your own technical dives
- Prepare for moving into advanced tech and rebreather (CCR) training
Prerequisites:
- Certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification)
- Certified as PADI Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) or equivalent
- Certified as PADI Deep Diver or proof of at least 10 dives to 30 meters / 100 feet
- Minimum of 30 logged dives, with at least 10 dives deeper than 18 meters / 60 feet, using enriched air nitrox
- At least 18 years old
- Medical form signed by a physician within the last 12 months
