NUSA LEMBONGAN ISLAND IS LOCATED 30 MINUTES FROM THE MAINLAND OF BALI - The main area is called Jungut Batu village and this is where you can find most of the hotels, restaurants, convenience stores and this is where Legend Diving in conjunction with Dive-Careers PADI professional training is located.

Nusa Lembongan attracts divers and surfers, with great breaks and excellent Manta, Mola and drift dives to keep you thrilled and excited during your professional diver training with us.

There is only 1 ATM on the island, which only takes MasterCard and is not overly reliable. It is best if you bring cash with you from the mainland as not every shop accepts credit card. You are able to pay your diving / accommodation at Legend Diving with credit card.

There is no taxi service on the island but most hotels and the further away restaurants do provide a pickup / drop service. Motorbikes and bicycles are widely available on the island and are a great way to get around the island. The island is quite small and easy to get around; it takes around 30 minutes to get from Jungut Batu village to the other large tourist area at Mushroom Beach.

DIVING NUSA LEMBONGAN BALI, during your PADI Divemaster / IDC Internship

Nusa Lembongan is just 30mins by boat from mainland Bali, and is where you can dive with the mantas and mola-mola that made Bali famous.

You will also find large schools of fish, beautiful hard-corals, colourful soft corals and a range of critters from macro to pelagics. Something for everyone!

WHAT ELSE CAN I SEE?

The gentle sloping reefs of the north coast of Pendia provide beautiful coral reefs starting at just 2 meters underwater and cover the slope all the way to the bottom. These mixing hard and soft corals, provide homes to many small critters like; nudibranch, crabs and shrimps while also providing a healthy living environment for many schooling reef fish. Off the reef and cruising in the blue water, it is possible to see the large fish like Giant Trevally, Turtles, Napoleon wrasse and Barracuda.

The large plateaus of the south provide the cleaning and feeding stations for the Manta Rays and this where the two manta dive sites are located. Although not as rich in coral diversity as the north, the plateaus do offer divers interesting rock formations covered in sponge and coral. The high light of the southern dive sites, is having the chance to see the Manta feeding in the shallows or being cleaned by the reef fish.

HIGHLIGHTS OF DIVING LEMBONGAN

With Manta rays inhabiting the waters around the islands of Nusa Penida all year round, divers have a high chance to dive with these large graceful creatures. The two manta dive sites offer diver the chance to witness manta rays feeding or being cleaned by common reef fish.

A tropical island dive resort, located only a minutes walk from the beach, where our custom built dive boats are waiting, loaded and ready to bring you the local dive sites which are only 10 – 45 minutes away.

With a coral coverage of 74% at 10 meters deep, the long stretching fringing reefs that run along the full north coast of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, provide plenty of colourful hard and soft corals to see for all levels of divers.

A large majority of the dive sites in the area are drift dives. This means we check to see which way the current is going and we just gently go with the flow.

During the season between the months of July to October, Mola Ramsayi (Oceanic Sunfish) are quite a common sight. Typically found between 18 – 30 meters, these strange creatures come up from the deeper waters with the cold currents (18 – 24 degrees) to be cleaned at the dive sites around Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.

We head out for at least 2 dives each day in our purpose built speed boats. Under the water, we stick to a max of 4 guests to 1 dive guide. ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS DURING YOUR DIVING INTERNSHIP IN NUSA LEMBONGAN, INDONESIA - There is accommodation options to suit all budgets. GETTING TO NUSA LEMBONGAN BALI for your PADI Divemaster / IDC Internship

TRANSPORT ON AND OFF ISLAND IS VERY EASY, WITH MANY COMPANIES RUNNING SPEED BOATS ALMOST EVERY HOUR TO OR FROM LEMBONGAN ISLAND FROM MAINLAND OF BALI. We can organise pick up and transfers from Denpasaar airport to Nusa Lembongan, to allow you to arrive relaxed and ready to dive.

All speed boats leave from Jalan Hang Tuah, at the north end of Sanur Beach. The ticket offices for all boats can be found on this road. The speed boats then bring you to Jungut Batu Beach or to Mushroom Beach on Nusa Lembongan, depending on where you are staying. Most companies provide a pick up and drop service to and from the boat or hotel.

For transfers to or from Bali, we use the most comfortable and convenient company, running 4 trips a day from Sanur to Lembongan at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and at 5.30pm. They then run 4 trips from Lembongan back to Sanur at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 4.30 every day. The trip takes only 30 minutes between the islands.

The price for this service is €21pp per way or €37.50pp return. This price includes pickup from the airport or a hotel in Bali, the boat transfer and a drop at your hotel in Lembongan, this is the same for Lembongan to Sanur. We can help you with this booking.

Please note that you may need to wade through shallow water when getting on / off the boat, so it is a good idea not to wear long trousers.

There is also a public slow boat that is a large wooden outrigger which leaves Sanur at 10.30 and takes about 1.5 hours to reach Lembongan. The boat leaves Lembongan at 8am.

For transfers to Lombok, we use the speed boat company called Scoot Fast Boat, which provides a speed boat to and from Lombok, via the Gili Islands. The boat leaves Lembongan at 10am. The boat then leaves Lombok at 1pm to Lembongan. We can help you with this booking.
