TAORMINA'S SEA BEDS ARE ROCKY SO THIS GIVES US GOOD VISIBILITY, RANGING FROM 10 TO 30 METERS DURING THE WHOLE SEASON FROM MAY TO OCTOBER

Sea Spirit Diving Resort offers dive sites of varying difficulty for all levels of experience. All dive sites are only a few minutes away, therefore only a short navigation is required. The different spots start from the 'Naxos Calcara' one of the first approaches of the Greek in Sicily, to the Roman Columns, then along the marine park of Isola Bella, the beautiful bay of the Blue Cave to finally arrive to the rock 'du Zio Innaru' next to the bay of Taormina Mazzar.

The morphology of the coast and the seabed is unique in its kind and one can come across many different types of flora and fauna. For example, the 'Posidonia', a typical Mediterranean underwater weed. With its leaf development a high amount of oxygen is produced that also contributes to the consolidation of the seabed and beaches, protecting them from erosion. But mostly this sea grass is the ideal environment for the growth of fish.

Colourful Mediterranean Sea fans and Pinne Nobilis, which is the biggest Mediterranean clam, will frame your dive. A dive in the history of the Roman columns at the 'Capo Taormina' and in the marine reserve's beautiful island with its steps and walls studded with sponges and astroidies (small sea daisies), ending with the blue cave and the amazing shrimp cave.

Diving next to the Isola Bella is definitely one of the highlights of diving around Taormina: Beautiful diving through the maze of pinnacles and drop-offs that characterize the southern coast of this beautiful island. Another famous dive site is the Blue Cave: this is a picturesque dive site because of the light that penetrates into the cave through a rift on the east side, which is also the entry point. During your dive you will find octopus, damselfish, school of sea bream, gold lines fish, parrot fish and large moray eels, surrounded by the beauty of the site.

In general you will encounter a variety of fish species of the Mediterranean during your dives such as groupers, moray eels, brown meagre, greater forkbeard, crabs, lobsters, eagle rays, octopus, goldline fish, saddled bream and much more. Join us for an unforgettable experience!

Sea Spirit Diving Resort is founded by Carmelo Sgroi in 2012. We are a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort so you can be assured that the quality of training and service meets the PADI standards. Our resort is situated at Atahotel Naxos Beach in Giardini-Naxos, Sicily, Italy. We are located 100m from the beach and a short walk from many hotels. Our boats depart from the main harbor of Giardini-Naxos, only 10/15 minutes from each dive spot. Our resort is equipped with air-condition, a classroom with LCD-TV for all the PADI-courses we offer, a bathroom, an equipment- and rinse area for all the Scubapro dive equipment and a nice relax area surrounded by lemon trees.

For all confined water parts of the PADI Courses, we perform the skills in an Olympic swimmingpool. The Olympic pool is just a few steps away and available every day any time. To make your diving experience the best as possible we provide Scubapro equipment. We have 20 complete Scubapro equipment sets.

OUR DIVE RESORT IN TAORMINA SICILY, EUROPE - SEA SPIRIT DIVING RESORT - Our professional staff are insured through DAN. We are a registered PADI 5 Star IDC Resort, S-23630, and adhere to all PADI regulations regarding the safety and training of all our divers.

We are available for diving 7 days a week during the season (April – October) and are able to offer very flexible dive packages and training courses. Giardini-Naxos has many restaurants and bars so there is plenty of choice for dining out and evening entertainment all within walking distance. Local supermarkets, banks and shops are also all on the main street. A regular bus service runs between Giardini-Naxos and Taormina.

GETTING TO YOUR TAORMINA DIVING INTERNSHIP - THE CLOSEST AIRPORT IS CATANIA, ABOUT 1 HOUR FROM THE DIVE CENTRE.

The bus is quite affordable to get to Giardini-Naxos where you can begin your Taormina Sicily diving internship.

Sea Spirit Diving Resort is located inside the Atahotel Naxos Beach in Giardini-Naxos, Sicily, Italy. The address: Via Recanati 26, 98035, Giardini-Naxos.

The closest international airport is Catania–Fontanarossa Airport also named as Vincenzo Bellini Airport and is located southwest of Catania, the second largest city on the Italian island of Sicily. Directly from the airport it is easy to take the bus (Interbus or Etna Transporti) in the direction of Taormina.

The closest bus station located to the diving resort is 'Recanati' bus station in Giardini-Naxos (before Taormina). From this bus station, it will be a 5-minute-walk to the hotel 'Atahotel Naxos Beach'.

With the bus station on your right hand side, walk towards the end of the road and turn right towards the Hilton Hotel. Walk past the Hilton Hotel and turn right again into the little street. At the end of this street, you will find the entrance of the Atahotel Naxos Beach. At the entrance of the hotel you can ask for Sea Spirit Diving Resort or follow the signs for Sea Spirit.

It is also possible to arrange a pick up with Sea Spirit Diving Resort from the bus station 'Recanati'. The biggest international airport in Italy is Rome Fiumicino Airport. There are flights on a daily basis from Rome to Catania. Sea Spirit Diving Resort is open from May until November (seasonal).

Depending on your home country, a Schengen-VISA might be required to visit Italy.
