TECHNICAL DIVING COURSES AVAILABLE in SOUTH AFRICA
PADI TEC 40
Before you jump right into the deep end and buy loads of new goodies and equipment first test the waters of tec diving with the Tec40 course
Technical diving is not only about going deep but is also about understanding decompression diving. The Tec 40 course introduces you to these concepts with minimal adjustments to your current gear configuration. The main focus here is to go past the no decompression limits you are use to. You will be limited to 10min deco after the Tec40 just to get you into the habit of decompression before you go onto the Tec45 course The Tec 40 is also the first subdivision of the full PADI Tec Deep course which means if you like the first part you can continue with the TEC 45 and TEC 50 course as you already have the required materials.
PADI TEC 45
Now that you have been in the water with some Tec gear and tested the water during the Tec40 course you are clearly ready for bigger things
So let’s take your training as a Tec diver deeper. This is now the second sub course in the full PADI Tec Diver course. The main Difference between the Tec40 and Tec45 is not just the obvious 5 meters you can go deeper but with the tec40 you will be limited to 10min of deco and shorter bottom times due to the amount of gas you have with you, with Tec45 you now get unlimited deco and a lot of extra bottom time.
PADI TEC 50
During the Tec45 course you will notice the effect of nitrogen narcosis like never before and to go beyond the 45meter mark we need to add a bit of Helium to the mix to get your head clear!
The Tec 50 course completes your training as an entry-level Tec diver, now taking you well beyond the limits of recreational diving. You will carry a total of 4 cylinders two with back gas and two with higher nitrox mixes to accelerate your decompression.
PADI TEC TRIMIX 65
Time for things to get serious!
This course opens up the advantages of trimix to the diver, and divers are qualified to make multi-stop decompression dives that employ EANx and oxygen for accelerated decompression, and any trimix with an oxygen content of 18% or more. They can dive to a maximum depth of 65 meters. The PADI Tec Trimix 65 course is intended to extend the depth range of technical divers already trained and qualified to use air, enriched air and oxygen for technical decompression dives beyond 50 meters.
