FREEDIVING COURSES AVAILABLE WITH OUR KOH TAO DIVING INTERNSHIPS
THE FREEDIVER COURSE: ADD-ON 6500 THB
DURATION: 2 DAYS
The Freediver Course is the first step into freediving for people with no experience in the ocean or whoever wants to discover this amazing sport. This is a course designed to enjoy the experience on a comfortable and safe environment guided by experienced instructors. With the help of the right techniques together with the effective structure of the course program you will be able to dive with confidence up to depths of 20 metres. The Freediver Course runs for 2 days and is divided into 2 academic lessons and 2 water sessions. The academic class will gradually go from the basics of freediving up to safety procedures and practices. The sessions are focused mainly in the practice developing as our most important tool, the breathing technique. During our water sessions we have a normal ratio of 2 students for 1 Instructor, with an absolute maximum of 3 students for 1 Instructor. The sessions are individually design for each student in order to follow each freediver needs increasing student confidence and safety.
THE ADVANCED FREEDIVER COURSE: ADD-ON 7500 THB
DURATION: 3 DAYS
The Advanced Course is an ideal course to have a complete understanding of the practice of the sport. The freedivers will learn about the amazing physiological adaptations that help our body to extend our period of breath hold up to 3 minutes and dive to new deeper depths. The most advanced breathing techniques together with our specific preparation for deep dives will make this possible even if you have just started in the sport. The Advanced Freediver Course runs for 3 days and is divided into 3 academic/breathing sessions, 1 pool session and 2 deep water sessions.
THE MASTER FREEDIVER COURSE: ADD-ON 30000 THB
DURATION: 4 - 5 WEEKS
The Master Freediver Course is an intensive training program of 4 to 5 weeks that prepare the students to discover their true potential as freedivers and break personal limits inside a high level of comfort and safety. For those who do not have enough time, the course is also available for shorter periods. The detailed program consists of:
- Daily training routines which include stretching, breathing exercises, lung-capacity increasing exercises, thoracic flexibility, equalization work-out…
- Water training sessions tailored training to the individual according to progress and results
- Dry training sessions to increase high CO2 tolerance, breatholds and relaxation
- Assisting Instructors on the Freediver and Advanced Freediver courses for classroom and water sessions
- Maximum Depth of 50 meters
Apnea Total provides all equipment necessary for this course however Master Freedivers are encouraged to have their own personal freediving equipment. The minimum recommendation is to own a snorkel, mask and rubber weight belt.
THE FREEDIVER INSTRUCTOR COURSE: ADD-ON 40000 THB
DURATION: APPROX 2 WEEKS
The Apnea Total Instructor Course is designed for those who are interested to teach freediving and to spread the sport of freediving around the world with a safe and fun methodology.
The Instructor Course consists of intensive personal workshops to develop your freedive knowledge, teaching skills and personal training techniques; as well as workshop sessions in the water and practical sessions teaching students. The Instructor Course lasts for a period of 2 weeks. Previous requirements are to complete the Apnea Total Master Freediver Course and to have assisted Apnea Total Instructors while teaching students for both the Freediver and Advanced courses. Following the completion of the 2 week Instructor Course, it is required to teach at least two Freediver Courses and two Advanced Courses at the Apnea Total Freediving Centre in Koh Tao.
Our aim at Apnea Total is to produce highly experienced Instructors who have all the required teaching skills and freedive knowledge to be successful in their Instructor career. The Apnea Total team will provide you with both knowledge and experience, as well as the possibility of employment at the Apnea Total Freedive Centre in Koh Tao, other Apnea Total schools around the world or even to establish your own freediving centre with the support from the Apnea Total Headquarters.
